Digital cash transfers as a tool to mitigate and adapt to climate change

Short biography

Sebastian Geschwind is driven by the fight for greater equality of opportunities on a global level. As a Mercator Fellow, he is guided by the question of how and where global socio-economic disparities can be combated most effectively with a focus on the two megatrends digital transformation and climate change. Sebastian gained work experience at KfW Development Bank, the German Central Bank, the German Foreign Office and Roland Berger. During his studies in Nancy, Princeton, Paris and Berlin, he specialized in International Development. Most recently, he worked as an advisor in the field of digital transformation at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
