Project title

India’s energy policy: geopolitical challenges, environmental strains, and economic opportunities

Short biography

During his fellowship year, Peter Freudenstein examines different aspects of India’s energy policy. He gained professional experience at the intersection of energy policy and international security at the Atlantic Council, the Center for Security Studies at ETH Zurich, and the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance. He is co-editor of the forausBlog. Peter studied International Affairs at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in Boston (MA) and the University of St. Gallen (BA, MA). For his master’s thesis, he conducted research on Russia’s fossil fuel exports and assessed the future potential of energy as a Russian tool of statecraft vis-à-vis Europe and India.
