Patrick Siegle

Patrick Siegle is dedicating his fellowship to the question of how international criminal justice can contribute to peace and reconciliation in societies affected by conflict. His project examines whether accountability under international criminal law, throughout the entire cycle of post-conflict justice – from humanitarian intervention and criminal investigations to international trials – can foster sustainable societal healing processes.

Patrick studied law in Munich, Paris, and London, completed his legal clerkship in Munich, and has worked, among others, at the Max Planck Institute in Freiburg, as an assistant to the United Nations International Law Commission, and in the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals.
