During his Mercator Fellowship, Nikolai Orgland aims to identify barriers to renewable electricity projects in emerging economies. In particular, he focuses on investigating better financing mechanisms for enabling low-cost electricity generation projects. Since his teenage years, he is passionate about our environment and aims to advance climate action as part of his career. He has previously worked as a consultant for the International Energy Agency (IEA), where he researched the fate of clean energy start-ups in emerging economies. He holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering & Science and a M.Sc. in Energy Management & Sustainability from École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
