Nadine Düe

Programme: Mercator Fellowship on International Affairs
Year: Jahrgang 2018
Project Title: Involvement of local personnel in military missions abroad – opportunities and challenges
Organization: Einsatzführungskommando der Bundeswehr, Vereinte Nationen Ausbildungszentrum der Bundeswehr
During the Mercator Fellowship, Nadine works on the involvement of local personnel in international military operations. Withdrawing international forces from the area of operations without having sufficiently stabilized the region, the former interpreters and guards are often victims of retaliations. In cooperation with the Federal Agency for Civic Education she wrote the book "We also served Germany" about former Afghan personnel who worked for the German Armed Forces, the German Federal Police and the German Federal Foreign Office during the ISAF-Mission. Nadine holds a master's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Philipps-University Marburg, and worked for the German Armed Forces as a consultant, supporting their capability development in the Information Domain.
