Project title

Inclusive Approaches to Peacebuilding in Contexts of Protracted Displacement

Short biography

As a Mercator Fellow, Miriam Trefzer focuses on the interlinkages between conflict, peace, and protracted displacement. She pays particular attention to the design of inclusive peace processes and to the important role of persons affected by protracted displacement in building inclusive societies and lasting peace. Miriam has gained professional experience at the UNHCR Liaison Office to the OSCE, the Munich Security Conference, the UN International Law Commission, and as a volunteer with the Tanzanian Red Cross Society. She holds a B.A. in International Relations from TU Dresden and an M.A. in International Law from the Graduate Institute Geneva, and spent semesters abroad in Jerusalem and Boston.
