As a Mercator Fellow, Marius Kretzschmar analyses the relationship between climate finance and geopolitical risks. The aim of his fellowship is to explore the impact of climate change on foreign policy and to develop solutions for sustainable security. He gained professional experience at the German Embassy in London, the European Commission and in management consulting. Furthermore, he has volunteered for and led several foreign policy think tanks and projects. His academic studies have taken him from Potsdam and Beijing to London, where he obtained a Master’s degree in International Political Economy.
