As a Mercator Fellow, Marcel Schlobach explores how Europe can build an innovative climate tech sector that accelerates decarbonisation, strengthens economic competitiveness and increases strategic resilience. He most recently worked as a Principal Manager at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London, supporting the growth of startups in over 25 countries, and previously focused on blended finance solutions to unlock climate investment. Marcel gained further experience in consulting, think tanks, government and the UN. He holds an M.Sc. in International Economic Policy from Sciences Po Paris and has lived, studied and worked in ten countries across three continents.
