Project title

Decolonising international cooperation by promoting partnerships with civil society

Short biography

As part of her fellowship, Leandra Bitahwa will investigate the possibilities of transparent cooperation between institutions and civil society, with a particular focus on the restitution of cultural heritage. She previously gained professional experience in the field of democracy strengthening and political participation at elbarlament and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Kampala/Uganda. Leandra studied International Relations in Sweden (B.A.), and at the Free University Berlin, Humboldt University and University of Potsdam (M.A.). She is interested in understanding how historical power structures influence international cooperation, and translating these insights into practice.
