Project title

Facilitating Self-Determination. Pathways towards a Human Rights-Based Practice of Mental Health Promotion and Crisis Resolution

Short biography

As a Mercator Fellow, Judith works on the further development of human rights-based approaches to promote mental health and well-being. She will illustrate the wide range of good practice services and develop strategies to introduce them elsewhere. By doing so, Judith wishes to contribute to the establishment of support systems that respect the autonomy of users, ensure social inclusion and work without seclusion and restraint. Through her work experiences as a personal assistant and as a resident physician in a psychiatric clinic she has already gained insight into various approaches to psychosocial support. Judith studied Medicine in Leipzig and Regensburg, with periods in India and Israel.
