As a Mercator Fellow, Gelila explores futures-thinking approaches in peace mediation. Through the fellowship, she deepens her research work on futures and foresight in conflict contexts with practical insights into mediation and dialogue processes. Previously, she worked as a researcher at the Global Public Policy Institute on peace and security policy on the African continent. Her work has appeared in Africa is a Country, Tagesspiegel, and Die Zeit. She holds an M.Sc. in International Relations (London School of Economics), an M.A. in International Security (Sciences Po Paris) and a B.A. in Political Science (University of Mannheim).
