With the steadily growing number of private and state actors in outer space, the legal regulation of space is becoming more important than ever. International space law is key to sustainable and safe exploration and use of outer space and its celestial bodies in the interest of all states. Ferechta Paiwand dedicates her fellowship year to researching potential opportunities for the further expansion and specification of existing international space laws, with a focus on internal justice. She has worked at the German Embassy in Zambia, the legal department of the German Society for International Cooperation and as a lawyer in a high-profile international law firm.
