As a Mercator Fellow, Annalena Brokering works on global supply chains for critical raw materials related to renewable energy technologies and specifically projects supported under the EU-Critical Raw Materials Act. She is particularly interested in value creation in regions of the so-called Global South through such projects. Annalena has been working for the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection in the areas of energy and industrial policy. She has also worked for the European Commission, a climate-NGO and law firms i.a. in her legal clerkship. She is a fully trained lawyer and studied in Hamburg, Shanghai and Edinburgh.
