Anja Crusius is a political economist and works on the potentials and challenges of local currency financing as part of the Mercator Fellowship. She will focus on financing constraints on the creditor side, the role of local capital market development and embed the topic in broader discussions on power hierarchies in international (development) financing, debt stability and dollarization. She gained work experience at the Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), in the field of sustainable finance at adelphi and as a sustainability analyst in the investment division of GLS Bank. Anja studied Political Science and holds a M.A. “Economic Policies in the Age of Globalization – EPOG” from HWR Berlin and Université Sorbonne Paris-Nord.
