Alban Schmid works on governance metrics and good governance in the context of development finance. He has experience as a Blue Book Trainee in the cabinet of EU Commission President von der Leyen and most recently worked as an academic programme manager and adjunct lecturer at Sciences Po Paris. He speaks six languages and studied at Sciences Po, at Peking University and at Oxford, where he graduated with a doctorate in East Asian Studies in 2022. His thesis focused on political and constitutional history of China and Korea.
